National Training and Information Center and leaders from Albany Park Neighborhood Council, Brighton Park Neighborhood Council, and Lakeview Action Coalition, held a press conference with Senator Dick Durbin yesterday to propose an aggressive strategy to curb foreclosures.

Foreclosures have impacted Chicago's west and south side communities for years. But, according to our 2008 foreclosure report, nearly 20,000 homes in communities all across Chicago received a foreclosure notice.

The number of foreclosures in Chicago have doubled since 2006. In order to stop the downward spiral of our economy, we must end the foreclosure crisis and keep families in their homes.
