Ron Laurent serves as vice chair of the Catholic Charities USA Board of Trustees. On May 31 Renee Brereton of National Catholic Campaign for Human Development re-introduced Laurent and his wife, Toni to NTIC. Their familiarity and admiration for the work of NTIC reaches far back. Laurent is the retired Director of Public Affairs for Fannie Mae and his memories of Gale Cincotta, NTIC’s late co-founder, have made quite an impression. He remembers Gale as a fiery, tireless community leader who fought and won increased access to homeownership. Perhaps what he admired most about Gale was her tenacity at standing up to those in powerful positions in order to win improvements in the neighborhoods.

Laurent is no stranger to working hard to make change. He has been doing similarly effective community development work for over 40 years. In the future, NTIC hopes to learn more from Mr. Laurent as we devise new ways to help families realize the dream of homeownership and protect their greatest financial asset.
